Sound familiar?

The three moments before you pay

🤔

“Half price… what’s the catch?”

Too-good deals, gift-card payments, “shipping only”, a brand-new seller account. Second Look spots the pattern before you send money.

💸

“Is $15,900 fair for this car?”

It estimates what this exact model, year and mileage usually sells for, and tells you how far off the asking price is.

💬

“What do I even say to the seller?”

You get three questions to ask and a polite, ready-to-send message with a concrete offer. Copy, paste, done.

Real answers

What it actually says

Word-for-word output on the three sample listings from the demo. Nothing edited.

Marketplace listing · shipping only

iPhone 15 Pro 256GB

Likely scam

Far below usual used prices, with gift cards, Zelle only, shipping only, and pressure to act today.

Asking
$380
Usually sells for
$700–$900

Message to the seller

“I’m not comfortable paying by Zelle or gift cards for shipping. If you can list it on a platform with buyer protection, I’d consider it.”

Private seller · listed 23 days

2017 Honda Civic EX, 92k miles

Consider negotiating

Clean-title Civic with decent details, but the price looks a bit high for 92,000 miles.

Asking
$15,900
Usually sells for
$13,800–$15,200

Message to the seller

“Hi Priya, I’m interested in the Civic. Based on the mileage and the incomplete service history, would you take $14,300 if I can view it and pay promptly?”

Local pickup · 31 seller reviews

3-seat fabric sofa, 3 years old

Fair price

The price is low for a 3-year-old 3-seat sofa in good condition.

Asking
$140
Usually sells for
$180–$350

Message to the seller

“Hi Sam, I’m interested in the sofa. Would you take $120 if I can collect soon?”

Prices are AI estimates from the listing text, not live market data. Always verify anything important before you pay.

Message to the seller

Hi! I'm interested in the A6. Similar ones go for €46–50k, so would you consider €47,500? I can view it this week.

How we calculate this

No made-up comparables. It tells you what it doesn't know.

Method
How the estimate was formed, in one sentence.
Comparables
A count only if known — otherwise it says “unknown”. No live listings database is queried.
Criteria
Year, mileage, engine, trim or equipment it used from the listing.
Limitations
One honest sentence on what could make the estimate wrong.
Confidence

Every report includes this section. Prices are AI estimates from the listing text — verify anything important before you pay.

How it works

Three steps.
Zero spreadsheets.

Free to start. Cheap when it matters.

Most people buy something big a few times a year, so there’s no monthly subscription you forget about. One avoided scam or one $500 haggle pays for years of it.

Questions

Good questions to ask

Is it really free?

Yes. You get 3 full checks a day with no account and no card. If you’re comparing lots of listings, the Deal Pass removes the limit for 30 days.

Which sites does it work on?

Any page that shows one thing for sale: marketplaces, classifieds, car sites, rental listings and normal online shops. It reads the page text, so there’s no list of supported sites. For something you saw offline, click “Describe it instead” and type it in.

How accurate are the prices?

They’re AI estimates from the listing text, not live sales data, and every report shows its confidence and what it doesn’t know. Treat it like a sharp friend who’s seen a lot of listings: great at spotting a bad deal or a scam pattern, not a certified appraisal.

What does it do with my data?

It reads the page only when you click the button, sends that text to the AI to write your report, and doesn’t store it. The only thing kept is a count of today’s free checks per IP address, which expires after a day. No account, no tracking, no ads. Reports are cached on your own device for 24 hours.

Does it work in my language?

Yes. Reports come back in your browser’s language, so a listing in Spanish, German or Finnish gets a report in that language too.

Can it be wrong?

Yes. It can only judge what the listing says, and it never sees the item itself. That’s why every report includes questions to ask and things to check in person. Use it to slow down and ask better questions, not as the final word.
